still waiting...

we are still waiting for baby claire to arrive. i technically still have another week or so, but i guess i was just expecting her to be here by now. goes to show that babies just come when they feel like it, not when we want them to! the doctor did say yesterday that she is probably going to be around 9 lbs - that was comforting (hope you can sense the sarcasm). then she really went on to say that if i don't cut back on the carbs, she could be closer to 10lbs!! who says that to a 10 month pregnant person- cut back on the carbs....um not happening. i am feeding myself and a LARGE baby!! if i don't eat carbs i will be starving! i am just ignoring her comment (while at the same time hoping she isn't right).  

gus is patiently waiting for baby sister too. this picture is one that we could take pretty much every day. he loves to just relax and sleep in her room. i wonder if he will still want to do that when she is crying at night?!? doubt it. 

skateboarding.

jonathan has been trying to teach gus how to ride a skateboard (well he has actually only had one official lesson) and let's just say he is NOT exactly a natural. traditionally, bulldogs love to ride skateboards and if you have ever watched the show "rob & big" you know what i am talking about, but gus doesn't seem interested. we are just hoping he picks up on it because it would be so much fun if he did (and he could use the exercise). if he ever does, i will be sure to post a video but for now, here are a few photos.

big brother :: guard dog

on any regular day,  gus follows jonathan & me around the house everywhere we go. he just loves to hang out with us & be right in the middle of everything (that's why we love bulldogs). but lately he has been disappearing at random times, so we end up looking for him to see what it is he is up to & here is what we find.... 

gus guarding the crib. he thinks he is a guard dog & that it is his job to protect baby claire's crib. it is so funny (& sweet) to see him doing this. he will sit there forever, just hanging out & looking around. we can't help but laugh. we love that he is going to be such a loving & protective big brother. now, if we could only teach him how to change her diapers....

happy 1st birthday gus!!

gus's 1st birthday is on april 10th, but we decided to celebrate his birthday today & he couldn't have been happier. we got him a new leash, a toy & made him a yummy "peanut butter carrot dog cake". he absolutely loved the cake & would have eaten the whole thing if we would have let him (we are saving half for later so he doesn't get sick). he didn't really like the party hat we got him at first, but once we put the cake in front of him, he didn't even care that we made him wear it. here are some funny pictures of him enjoying his birthday treat....

we love you gus & can't imagine life without you (it would be so boring). happy birthday!!

this is how you can find gus most of the time now. sunbathing is his new favorite thing to do. he goes outside & lays in the sun forever. it is so funny to watch him. I think he is confused & forgets he is a dog. I sure wish I had his life though: sleep, eat, lay in the sun, sleep, eat, lay in the sun..... I don't blame him though, I am loving the sunny weather:)

Puppy love.

gus got together with his english bulldog bff, rocco last week & he had so much fun. we walked to the dog park & they played, then gus rested, then they played, then gus rested...etc. that cycle continued on for a while. gus is a little out of shape and not as fit as rocco is (it's ok though because we want gus to stay all chubby). you can tell though because gus's tongue is out in just about every picture. apparently he was exhausted. here are some cute pictures of gus & rocco::

You know that you have procrastinated folding  your laundry long enough, when you walk upstairs to find this..... 

Seriously not cool.  The sad thing is I am actually contemplating not re-washing them. It's just Gus (that is what I keep telling myself). You think Jonathan would mind (or notice) a tiny bit of dog hair on his clean clothes?! AHHHH!

I have the cutest little yellow pumps that I love to wear with just about any outfit to give it a little style & color. I came home yesterday to find that my little yellow shoes were not so cute anymore. Gus got a hold of them while we were out & now they look like this....

I am not sure how long he worked on my poor shoes for, but he DESTROYED them. I was so mad at first but then I remembered that he doesn't know how much Mommy loves these shoes & it's my fault for leaving them on the floor. So, now let's just say that I am on the hunt for new yellow pumps:)

Gus is a celebrity!!

We submitted these photos of Gus in his halloween costume (a pumpkin) into a costume contest for dogs on the Daily puppy website and he won!! He will be featured on their website today for Halloween!! Go to http://www.thedailypuppy.com/ and check it out. Click on the link on the top right that says "Grown-up puppies" and he is the 3rd picture down (it's the adorable shot of his behind:). We are so proud of our little boy....he is famous!

Halloween cards from the Goulding's coming soon. How can you not love this butterball in his Pumpkin costume?! As you can tell, Gus didn't enjoy it quite as much as we did. I am pretty sure he is thinking, "Seriously Mom, I look ridiculous!"

Where on Earth did our little puppy go?! A few months ago he looked like this.....

We kinda miss him being so tiny, but we love how chubby and fat he is now. He still loves to cuddle though, and that's all we really care about. We love you Gus (even if we can barely pick you up anymore & you snore so loud that it wakes us up at night). Happy 5 month birthday Gus-Gus!

Play-Date

Gus had his first play-date with another English Bulldog. His new buddy is named Rocco and he belongs to our friends, Kitrina and Eric. Rocco and Gus are from the same breeder, and Kitrina figured out that Rocco's Dad is Gus's Grandpa (so that makes Rocco Gus's Uncle...we think) Needless to say they absolutely LOVED eachother.....even if Rocco is a bit bigger than Gus. (Sorry there are so many pictures....they were all so cute!)
