Jury Duty
I had to report to Jury Duty today. I was not very excited about it. Most people just get to call & listen to a recording a couple of times & then they are off the hook. Not me! I actually had to go to the courthouse today & potentially be apart of a criminal trial (Jonathan found it quite hilarious that I actually got picked to report since he ALWAYS gets out of it). They questioned us for 3 hours & still didn't pick a Jury! I have to report back tomorrow at 9am to finish the questioning. I really hope I don't get picked. The nature of the crime really isn't something that I want to be involved in or have to make a decision about. I made a few comments implying that, but we will see what happens tomorrow. Oh, and I forgot to mention that we are leaving to go on a cruise with Jonathan's family in less than 2 weeks! ahhhh! Why do these things happen at the most inconvenient time?!

Oh Yikes! Did you mention that you are a member of the NRA? How about you're a strong proponent of 3 strikes "you're out". That might work. Seriously just tell them that your mother in law will go postal if you aren't allowed to join the other 13 family members on the family reunion cruise to Alaska. You are brilliant, I'm sure you can come up with 'sumthin. Take your tickets and confirmation from Princess Cruises. Let me know how it turns out. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Are you allowed to ask for a postponement of your jury service?
Yea. I told them about the cruise. The trial is scheduled to be done the friday before we leave. The judge said he is almost positive we would be done by then. I also added a few other comments that would make the defense NOT want to have me on the jury. So I should be safe:)
